Crazy Random Road Trips...

So last week I went to New England sporadically.  It was a good trip.  Fast, but good.  I spent good ole' Singles Awareness Day (known to some as V-Day) walking the streets of Boston shopping.  I bought a ski hat and a bag from the Army/Navy Store...  However, I will say that we were tempted to buy another hat:

You will be happy to know that we didn't buy them.

What else...  nothing is really new.  Except for remember when I said I had time on my hands?  Yeah, not so much anymore.  I have Monday evenings free...and most weekends except for my "kids" come over a lot on the weekends so, while they're free, they're not all downtime.  But that's ok.  I, for the most part, am quite content with my life as it is (aside from the occasional crisis and drama of working with youth--but again...not my crisis, i just have to pick up the pieces sometimes).  I think that I'm going back up this weekend...we shall see whether I make new memories with more fun pictures.

Look, I did better.  It hasn't been so long!  Not that I have anything of value to say, though.  I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.  Believe it or not, I have time on my hands.  That's a very odd feeling, by the way.  It's been so long since I've had time to just sit and think...but I have been enjoying that time.  Maybe someday, if you're lucky, I'll let you know what I was thinking about.

Fun stuff.

This is fun.  I stoled it from Aimee and Jess:
Be a rock star:
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random -- The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 --- The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days --- The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Otago Rebels: Work and Play Merge.

This can also work for books...
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random -- The first article title on the page is your pen name
2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 --- The last three or four words of the very last quote is the title of your book.
3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days --- The fifth picture, no matter what it is, will be your book cover.

Happy New Year!!

Yes, it's taken me nearly this long to recover from reunion weekend.  The holidays were good...but different this year.  Christmas Eve I spent with my grandparents and cousins...I scored a funky pair of Pink Panther socks from Susy.  When I wear them, I get to do the sock dance. :)  Christmas day I did the church thing and lunch thing with my grandparents and cousins, then I went to Nicolle's house and we saw "The Water Horse"  It wasn't a spectacular movie, but the fact that it was about the Loch Ness monster and set in Scotland made it thoroughly enjoyable for me.  Then we ate dinner, hung out and watched "National Treasure" (the first one).  Then, the mad preparations for reunion started...

I had to run errands, order food (7 2-ft subs require order in advance), put gift bags together, write out cards, figure out exactly who was coming and for which days, and plan the thing.  I had started doing things earlier in december, but there were the last minute schedule tweaks and New Year's eve service to do.

The weekend, overall, was great.  It was loud and chaotic to the extreme, but it was so so fun.  A lot of the kids that came I saw regularly anyhow (Abigail, Rob, Nicolle, Ripleys, etc) but to see everyone together was so much fun.  I hardly got any sleep (of course), so spent the weekend dragging...but all is well.  Since I worked almost 40 hours sun-tues, I have been basically off since then.  So I've been able to clean, reorganize myself, and get some much-needed rest.  Here are some pictures:

Rob wore his footy pajamas to breakfast the first day.

During the white elephant, "Icky Poo" was the favored gift...here, Abigail is stealing it from Rob only to get it stolen by Lauren (Rob's gf) so he ultimately ended up with it.

Abigail, me, Nicolle, and Jordan counting down...

This is most of the group that came...we took it around 12:15am on New Years Day!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I cannot believe that Christmas is just over a week away!!  It certainly doesn't seem like it.  Although, I will say that the past week or so it's felt a lot more like the holidays.  Last weekend, I journeyed up to Brooklyn to see my sister in law's Christmas show.  It was so so so great.  She has so many talented musician-friends so, combining them with her own talent made for a spectacular show, and I felt appropriately Christmas-esque afterward.

This is Sarah singing...  :)

Also, I put my Christmas tree up a while ago...  notice the Starbucks ornaments, and the festive tree-topper.
